I get questions from new real estate agents almost everyday on how to be successful. People want to know what it takes to be on top of the real estate world and how they can be among the very best in the industry. Today I will let the secret out. There is no secret.
The most important, number one tip, above all, on reaching your goals as a salesperson or anything in life in general, I can tell you is this: Be consistent. Nothing is more important than your consistency. You’re only going to get a little bit better everyday in what you do to reach your goals. You’re going to suck when you start at cold calls for example. But you’re going to make small improvements and progress each day as long as you’re consistent.
Write down what your goals are. Come up with a Written and Detailed plan of what you need to do to reach your goals. Follow this plan each day no matter what day it is be it Sunday or Wednesday or Holiday. Take no days off until you reach your goals. Be Consistent.
Focus each day on being committed to your ultimate goals by doing whatever it takes to reach those goals you set out for yourself. Get to the office at a certain time. Aim to be the first one at the office each day and be the last to leave. I like to play a game of getting up before sunrise. Thomas Jefferson said “the sun has not caught me in bed in the last fifty years”.
Be consistent. Do what you are supposed to do at work. Contact the people you seek to do business with and meet them. Some days will be more difficult than others simply because of how you feel that day. Don’t worry about how you feel each day because at the end of your feelings is nothing. No one cares how you feel and neither should you. Get the most you can out of each day by dedicating yourself to your written detailed plan.
Always keep in mind that your journey to the top is a marathon. It will take time. There are no shortcuts. There is no magic to being successful. Stay on the highway. Stay in your own lane. The exit is near as long as you are able to Be Consistent.
